Students of Istanbul Technical University Department of Food Engineering restrictedly applied during the 4 yearly undergraduate education students have to achieve their internship in Laboratory and Production. About the internship binding rules view the Internship Procedures. In internship procedures there is an explanation about the necessary minimum credit loads and lessons for student's manage to do their internship.

Internship Application

  • Student has to take the document about the compulsory internship from the Department of Food Engineering Secretary and fill it properly. After filling it student's have to get it signed from Department Internship Commission and take a formal number from Department Secretary.

  • With this document, student makes an application for internship to an institution. Student has to give the document about the compulsory internship with résumé and a self-written petition to the applicant firm. There is another application document maybe the firm wants.

  • Student takes the internship acceptance document (GM-S03) filled by the firm and having it approved by the Industrial Relationships and Internship Commission, student can begin internship process (insurance). The Internship location that approved by the Industrial Relationship and Internship Commission can't be change unless there is a sufficient reason for that commission can accept.

  • At least 1 month before the beginning of the internship student have to approve the internship information from the www.staj.itu.edu.tr

  • Student has to go Occupational Health and Safety Unit and take the formal process of General Education Form and Examination confirmation. Before the beginning of the internship student have to take a training in ITU Occupational Health and Safety Unit

  • The document from the firm that student is accepted for the internship and the report which is given after the training from Occupational Health and Safety Unit have to deliver at least 1 month before the internship to the Faculty Internship Unit.

Student's must do for Internship;

Before beginning of the internship;

  • Student has to take the document about the internship from the Department of Food Engineering Secretarial and fill it properly. After filling it student's have to get it signed from Internship Commission of Department and take a formal number from Department Secretary

Starting the Internship;

  • Student must fill the internship book with the information about him/herself and paste a picture before that student must impressed stamp the picture from the Deanship Internship Unit and get it signed one of the member of the internship commission. If student doesn't have a picture or not impressed stamp picture or unsigned book their internship won't be accepted.

  • The internship book must be clean, organized and handwritten. All shape and theme must be sketched the technique painting rules.

  • If the pages of the internship book run short student can ad same type of paper. The internship book must be bind before delivery.

  • Every page must be completely filled and last page certified by employer. If in internship with no corporate seal and consent the internship won't be accepted.

When Internship End;

  • Student liable with every filled survey and delivery to internship commission (GM-S01 Employer Internship Evaluate Form, GM-S02 Student Internship Evaluate Form). The surveys must be delivered apart from the internship book.

  • The Employer Internship Evaluate Form must be delivered to the Internship Commission with close envelope.

  • The internship book and survey forms most lately delivered by the term that student did the internship to internship commission.

  • Student who did their internship in abroad and %100 English program students must deliver their internship books in English.
